It’s a new feature on Steam that allows players to test games before they purchase them. The first game to feature it is this year’s remake of cult horror game, It’s Alive.
It seems that Steam is trialing a new feature that will appeal to many gamers. The feature lets you test a game for free before you buy it.
Free trial period
The aforementioned feature differs from classic demos in that it does not impose artificial limits on the user’s in-game content. There will be no difference between the test and the full version. Testers will only have a limited amount of time to play the game during testing. After the free period expires, the player will have the option of buying the game and continuing to play, or abandoning further gameplay.
In the PC environment, this type of option is particularly useful, since the potential customer can test the performance of his PC as well as the game itself.
