uthor’s Note: This is a satirical account of how to defeat the the Skeletal Mage boss in Diablo Immortal. My tips for defeating him will be helpful. The author and Hero of the tale is a “braggart” we know but he is YOUR braggart! The whimsical writing style is meant to be engaging! Enjoy the read!

I record here, my account (mostly true), of how I defeated the Skeletal Mage in the Tomb of the Queen at Ashwold Cemetery.

Prior to Confronting the Skeletal Mage:
After defeating Ifris the Destroyer and prior to encountering The Skeletal Mage, I completed the following heroic tasks.
– A hero’s work is never done!
- I defeated Ifris the Destroyer and retrieved the Worldstone Shard.
- I returned to Wortham, spoke to Cain, and practiced using the in-game Auto Navigation feature.
- I exceeded Level 11 in Wortham and then followed the path to Ashwold Cemetery.
- I killed some grave robbers and then spoke to Samma.
- I went to the cemetery groundskeeper’s home, killed Gordon, and more grave robbers, and then spoke to Ulric.
- I visited the Crypt of Honored Dead, killed some more undead, and then spoke to Xul.
- I visited Guard Bramden and then the Guard’s Watch. (The Exiled Apprentice Quest)
- I killed more undead and spoke to Captian Azmir and Paulie the blacksmith.
- I returned to Captain Azmir and also upgraded some weapons and armor at the blacksmith. (The Consulting the Guards Quest)
- I located the Handmaiden’s Cottage, killed the undead, searched the cottage, and then lit the candle on the table.
- I found and followed a bloodstain that led me thru a wooden wall and onto a path.
- I defeated the ambushing undead, spoke to Xul, and then finally found and spoke to the Handmaiden. then spoke to Xul again. (The Handmaiden Quest)
- I exceeded Level 13 and felt strong enough to take on the Skeletal Mage!
Never before have I encountered so many undead. You would think there was shortage of living souls. I can’t wait to get out of this creepy place – in one piece! Your exhaulting Hero!
I had to take a short rest after those last 13 steps. Hey, even a hero needs rest!
OK, feeling better and ready to take on big bag-o-bones. I made my way through Ashwold Cemetery killing the undead that appear like flies on *@#$% paper! and entered the Tomb of the Queen. After searching the tomb, I head over to Queen Asylla’s Burial Vault. Then the fun began!
Enter the Skeletal Mage:
The Queen’s spirit will lead the way to the Black King, Leoric. Soon my master, Lethes, will have his wretched soul…and the damned shall bow before their new monarch.
-The Skeletal Mage
Yea, bla, bla, bla, they all think they’re bringing the world as we know it, to an end!
Tips for Defeating the Skeletal Mage in Diablo Immortal
Dodge and Strike!
He talks tough but Mr. Mage is a one-hit pony!
He will shoot a continuous beam of emerald energy. If it locks onto you, it can do some damage. So just perform an out-flanking maneuver around the beam and start kicking *&^%$.
Skeletal Mage can Warp Space-Time!
Look out for when you see the space around him start to warp. This is the indicator that he will disappear and then reappear in a different location. This was not difficult to handle, even for me 😉
Hint: Look for his footsteps!
In the image above you see him. Then in the image below, he warps space-time above his circle and disappears.
However, you will see his footprints leading to his new location. Just stay clear of the direction the footprints are heading.
Hey, I could really use that trick at work – but hide the footprints too!
Keep dodging, flanking, and attacking and you will eventually prevail.

For the record, these accounts are my own and do not ensure your victory over the Skeletal Mage. However, if you attain a high enough level before taking him on, you should prevail and live to record the tale. However, in your record of deeds, remember that I was the first!
