What is a Prologue Anyway?
A prologue is an introductory section of a literary or musical work, typically one that gives a sense of what’s to come. In the case of Diablo Immortal, the prologue quest serves as a preview of the game’s story and its gameplay mechanics.
The Prologue quest takes place in the town of Wortham. You play as a new character, the last of the Horadrim, who is tasked with stopping the demon lord Skarn from returning to Sanctuary.
As the last surviving member of the Horadrim, you must join forces with other heroes and venture across Sanctuary to stop Skarn and his army of demons. Along the way, you’ll encounter challenging bosses, collect powerful loot, and upgrade your skills and abilities.
To accomplish these, you will need to complete a series of tasks, each with its unique set of challenges.
Prologue Quest – Your Tasks for Completion
Walk with me as we take a closer look at your tasks for completing the prologue quest.
In the starting scene, you travel to Wortham by boat.
Upon debarking, head through the forest to the town of Wortham.
Investigate an Abandoned Building on the left side of the road. While there you will encounter the first infected villager.
Next, kill all of the remaining infected villagers, followed by a cultist and the any undead villagers that you encounter.
You will encounter and must kill the Putrid Desecrator. This is where your first encounter happens with a giant monster. You can defeat him easily, just use your current skills and you will be fine.
Game Note: Once you kill the Putrid Desecrator, you will unlock the Skills menu and then the Inventory menu after the fight.
Game Tip: Fight the more difficult monsters and bosses using your mobility. Change position constantly while fighting. This will help make you a more difficult target to hit. Also, try to avoid clustering monsters in one place until you get area of effect AoE attack skills.
OK, let’s keep walking.
Talk to the Guard at Wortham’s front gate.
Game Note: The Minimap will now appear in the upper right corner of your screen.
Next, keep walking and locate the Vile Refuge.
Kill the Acolyte of Damnation and free the Shackled Villager lying on the ground.
After doing that, talk to Korrin and then enter the portal that is created.
Game Note: Portals are the means of fast travel around Sanctuary. This one will take you to a village.
Now talk to the Blacksmith.
Game Note: At the blacksmith, you will be able to salvage unneeded equipment that you have picked up and don’t need as upgrading materials. Salvage means you can dismantle useless equipment for other needed materials.
Now, make your way to the chapel and speak with the village survivors.
After that make your way to the western gate and assist the guards.
After this, move onward and reach the unseen lair.
Defeat the cultists and search for the Worldstone Shard.
During your search, you will engage and must battle Eskara and Ifris the Destroyer. Remember to be mobile and grab some healing potions to refill your health.
When you have defeated Ifris the Destroyer, examine the Worldstone Shard.
Once completed, again, enter the Portal to Wortham and talk to Cain in Wortham’s Chapel.
Cain is one of the main game characters to be remembered. You will be gathering world stones and various materials to destroy it.
Locate and take the World Map and talk to Cain before exiting the chapel.
This will end the prologue quest.
Game Note: After the Prologue quest, the Auto-navigation menu, Quests menu, and other game features will all be unlocked.
