In Dota 2, Valve is limiting monetization in so-called Custom Games, or player-created gameplay modes, such as World Of Dota, Overthrow 3.0, and Custom Hero Clash.
A letter from Valve reminded the developers of many Custom Games that monetizing mods for Dota 2 is against the EULA.
The company is demanding a complete halt to monetization in Custom Games. This includes skins, subscriptions, paid season passes and microtransactions for virtual currency.
