New life has been breathed into The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition. The game has been out for ten years, but fans still love it, and there are new features to enjoy. Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks developed and published The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It has been out for ten years, but fans still love the game, and there are new things to do.
New Survival Mode
A new feature that players can now access is Survival Mode. Players will find that this mode makes the game much more challenging than they imagined. Whether sleeping or staying warm, the game has a much more immersive feel. In this mode, there are some things players should be aware of because there are a lot of changes from traditional Skyrim.
Be a Cook about it!
In Survival Mode, you must eat food in order to survive. As hunger lasts, players lose more stamina. Feeding characters regularly and carrying food around will prevent them from going hungry. Keeping small foods on hand, such as apples, carrots, etc., will stave off hunger until a meal is available. Salt Piles are required for many food recipes. The Fire Salts can make soup “Hot” and give characters some warmth.
Be a hunter and fisher
To hunt deer and elk, players should carry a bow and arrows since most cooked meals require meat or fish. Skyrim has some cooking places, such as bandit areas and ruins. Having some meat on hand will allow players to make some food to prevent Hunger if they hunt.
Buy an ore picking axe
There is an abundance of ore deposits in Skyrim’s mines, caves, dungeons, and quarries just waiting to be discovered. Without a pickaxe, you won’t be able to acquire ore for smelting into ingots, which are then used to craft weapons, armor, and jewelry. It is also possible to find rare gems in mining deposits, which can be sold or crafted into more valuable jewelry.
Can You Hear That?
Keep an ear out for sounds in Skyrim’s more populated areas. Citizens and guards may also be able to provide you with useful information. Occasionally, they just want to talk about knees and arrows. NPCs will just ask how you’re doing when you’re infected with a disease, for instance.
Check your gear for magical enchantments
The only way to learn a weapon or armor enchantment in Skyrim is to disenchant a piece of gear that has that enchantment on it. Take a look at the enchanting table to discover the secrets of loot with cool enchantments.
Discover new shouts with Arngeir’s help
You can add side quests that lead you to word walls if you have a large backlog of dragon souls and don’t know what to do with them. Just speak to Arngeir (the leader of the Greybeards). Sure, you can stumble upon these walls on your own, but it never hurts to have some guidance.
Enchant, craft, and brew with caution
It is the enchanting, blacksmithing, and alchemy skill trees that are the most powerful in Skyrim. If you abuse these skills on Adept difficulty or lower, your character can become incredibly powerful. To temporarily increase your enchanting skill, you can use potions in addition to enchantment gear. Repeating the use of these exploits increases your gear’s strength.
Experienced Players will Tell you: Don’t Be a Hoarder!
The amount of loot in Skyrim can easily overwhelm you. Don’t save potions and soul gems for difficult boss battles. It becomes increasingly cumbersome and annoying to play the “what do I drop next?” inventory game. To keep the game moving, sell or use your loot frequently. Reach out to a merchant if you accumulate too much gear. Followers and pets can carry some items. They can also carry some items, making gathering easier. Despite not being able to carry much, players can carry more.
Find the Easter Eggs!
Every Bethesda game follows a neat pattern. There will be a number of “Easter eggs” such as bugs and exploits hidden throughout the game by the developers. These can enhance your game or just be enjoyed for their own sake if you find them. Skyrim is filled with tricks and accomplishments. This is so much so that it could dedicate entire articles to topics such as how to level up faster or hacking methods to influence NPCs.
You can do countless things, even laughable ones. In order to conceal your identity while stealing NPCs, you could put a bucket on your head. The use of exploits doesn’t have to be humorous; there are plenty of other ways to benefit from them. The fun of exploits is that you have to try them out before you find out if they can help you or just make the game more enjoyable.
Good armor can be cold as &^%$#@!
In addition to keeping warm, players may need special armor if staying warm is not already challenging. It will be challenging to stay warm at the beginning of the game. There are some armors that provide better warmth than others. Even later in the game, Fur Armor with sleeves provides some of the most effective warmth.
Have Backpack, Will Travel
A backpack is the best option for players who want to pick up more items on their journey. Backpacks increase the number of items players can carry. Additionally, some will increase bow damage, lockpicking, or magic. Forges or merchants can make these backpacks. To carry more items, players should get one as soon as possible.
Keep companions close
The companions in Skyrim have a long, unique questline that you won’t want to miss out on. These warriors are based in the city of Whiterun. Those aren’t the issues we’re discussing here. Skyrim has many NPCs that are willing to accompany you on your travels, providing you with storage space and support in combat.
Once you’ve acquired a companion, exploring the province’s icy tundra and lush forests becomes much more enjoyable. Inns and taverns that pepper the game’s major cities often have thugs for hire if you can’t find some assistance (or if your last companion met an untimely death).
Mix It Up!
In spite of the fact that your talent points are essentially permanent (see tip #3), Skyrim’s skill system levels up your different skill trees automatically as you use them. In the same way that casting Destruction spells will increase your Destruction skill over time, wearing heavy armor will increase your Heavy Armor skill.
By keeping your skill points, you can experiment with different approaches to the game, and tailor your skills accordingly. Having said that, don’t overextend your character. You may never reach the top of any skill tree if you allocate points to several trees (above skill 70).
Mix up your attack skills with melee and ranged
It’s not unusual for newcomers to gravitate toward melee combat, where clubs, axes, and swords are used to bash monsters and enemies. While investing skill points in close-range melee is a smart idea, it’s also a smart idea to level up your long-range attacks as well. In addition to bows, you have a vast array of magicka spells at your disposal. The more ways you have to attack your enemies, the more likely you are to win.
Save early and often
This Goes without Saying, But Still… If you haven’t saved your game in three hours, an untimely death or unexpected glitch can cause controller-smashing frustration. Don’t become one of them. Especially when you’re wandering the wilds, going into a tough boss fight, or trying to pickpocket someone.
See a man about a horse!
It can be challenging to explore Skyrim’s vast landscape, especially when powerful enemies stand between you and your goal. However, acquiring a horse can alleviate many of the world’s problems. A horse buddy will also allow you to climb mountains more quickly, in addition to speeding up your movement. When mounted, you can even travel fast while unencumbered.
Take a Side Quest to find the Tamriel Daedric princes
In Skyrim, the Daedric Prince quests are among the most enjoyable and unique content in the Elder Scrolls universe. These quests, especially those for Azura, can net you some extremely powerful items if you complete them. After slogging through Skyrim’s more serious storylines, these quests can provide some refreshing humor and creative scenarios.
Take Some Me Time!
After a big fight, just hanging out can help you heal, as in past Elder Scrolls games. You will get more health, magic, and stamina after a few hours. While completing a quest or not near an enemy, you can meditate. However, if you play role-playing games, this may break your immersion.
Take Time to Read!
No not this article! Well yes, please read this article but what I mean is this. The northernmost province of Tamriel contains more than 200 unique books and scrolls that explain the lore and culture of the Elder Scrolls. Many of the books grant skill boosts, even if you don’t like reading. It won’t read itself, either.
Taste everything (but not raw meat)!
In Skyrim, alchemy ingredients range from flowers to troll fat, each with a unique trait that determines the effects of potions made from them. An alchemy station can create a Damage Health poison by combining ectoplasm with deathbell flowers, both of which have the “damage health” trait.
When you eat an alchemy ingredient for the first time, you will automatically learn one of its traits, which will greatly increase your knowledge of alchemy. When you invest talent points in your Alchemy tree, you unlock more traits for each ingredient and increase the potency of your creations.
Raw meat has consequences in the new Skyrim Survival Mode. Raw meat can cause food poisoning. There will be a 50% decrease in magicka and stamina recovery as a result of this. In the next three days, food won’t be able to restore health. This will prove to be a huge problem since food is essential for survival. |
That “Favorites” menu can be tricky
You’ll use your “favorites” menu for almost everything at the beginning of the game. Switching between spells, shouts, and weapons is easy and potions can be consumed quickly (especially on consoles). Don’t forget to delete stuff you don’t often use from the list, since it can become cumbersome. Enchanted or crafted items should also be given custom names – after all, you don’t want three different “Iron Greatswords of Burning”.
Think First before Allocating Talent Points
Among the game’s many skill trees, be careful when allocating talent points. Changing your mind won’t give you another chance to reset these points. Make sure you decide which playstyle is best suited to you (or your character) before investing.
It should be noted that the “Dragonborn” expansion allows players to reset their skill trees and refund points at the cost of dragon souls. To unlock this ability, you must complete the DLC. |
Use Unrelenting Force – Outside of Battle
The first dragon shout in Skyrim, “Unrelenting Force,” is actually quite useful. Additionally, it can interrupt enemy spellcasters, staggering them and knocking them back.
You might get sick so always have a few “cure disease” potions
In the event that your character gets infected with one of the game’s many debuffs – such as Brain Rot or Sanguinare Vampiris – you should always have an Emergen-C packet to restore them to health. The same effect can also be achieved by activating any of the shrines in the game.
Zelda Amiibo Begets Useful Gear
The following tip is only applicable to the Nintendo Switch version of Skyrim. There is a way to obtain valuable items like the Champion’s Tunic, Master Sword, and Shield using specific Zelda amiibo. You can use your full amiibo functionality at the start of the game, which gives you a huge boost right away. While exploring Skyrim, you can also purchase an amiibo with a Zelda theme for more enjoyment.
