An investigation into allegations of sexual assault and harassment made by former employees of French video game company Ubisoft led to the arrests of five people.
Two of the arrestees are former Ubisoft chief creative officer Serge Hascoet and ex-vice president of editorial and creative services Tommy Francois, according to the French news outlet Liberation. After being accused of at least three allegations of misconduct, Ubisoft suspended the latter along with former creative director and editorial vice president Maxime Beland in June 2020.
In the days following the allegations, Beland resigned from the company, but it is unclear whether authorities have taken any action regarding the allegations against him. As for Hascoet, staffers accused the former head of creative of culpability for failing to address allegations made against Francois or taking disciplinary action. Ubisoft fired Hascoet in 2020.
