While the Nintendo 3DS hasn’t been far removed from retail, collectors are already searching for hidden gems and harder-to-obtain releases to complete their collection (there are also some affordable gems). Some of these games may seem quite expensive, but if history is any guide, some of the more rare games might just increase strongly from here on out.
These listings include some high-ranking rarities and some cartridge-only games. While bare cartridges of some of these games are still hard to come by, complete copies command a premium. In spite of the fact that the Nintendo DS cases are more durable and useful than the Game Boy line’s cardboard boxes, a lot of DS cases are being discarded by stores like GameStop who scrap their cases before selling the games (sad, but true).
A mint, complete copy is usually priced at the highest price in the past three months in the value ranges. If one has recently sold, the average price will also be shared. The list is sorted by the balance of the two primary prices. Note that some of these games are not rare in the sense that there are not many available, but rare relative to demand, which makes them expensive.
