Despite the broomstick becoming one of the most iconic means of transportation in the Harry Potter universe, aspiring Wizards and Witches will not begin the game with a way to travel unless they are on foot.
Students must first complete a number of steps before choosing their own broom. Once you have your own broom, traveling becomes much easier, especially in Hogwarts Legacy’s wilderness.
Hogwarts Legacy – Where to Get and Use the Broom
You’ll need to complete a certain part of the main story in order to unlock the use of the broom, like many other aspects of the game. For me, finding one was much easier in my own playthrough, but you have to reach a certain milestone. The “Flying Class” quest occurs after the Jackdaw line of events in the main story to unlock access.
Upon completing Flying Class and the test associated with it, you are ready to purchase a broom. Buying one after the class is the only way to get one, and that means going to Hogsmeade where all the shops are. The shop that sells brooms is Sprintwitch Sporting Needs, and they cost 600 Galleons.
Now that you have a broom, you can go into the gear menu and hit Circle/B on a controller to activate the use of the stick. With your equipment, all set in Hogwarts Legacy, tap L1/LB to take out the broom on a controller, or tab+3 by default on a keyboard and mouse. Using the triggers and the analog stick will help you with speed and direction while you fly, but the flying class will outline it all.
