With the launch of Redfall, players are eager to see what the world and the hullabaloo are all about. While this may not be the perfect game for everyone, there’s still a lot to enjoy, so long as your platform of choice works. While the game utilizes Unreal Engine 4 to power its stylized world, PC players have experienced performance issues, regardless of whether their device exceeds its recommended specifications. We’ll see if we can tweak the game enough to make it run better, or if we can get our bloodlust satiated just a bit.

Tweak These Settings Before Jumping Into Redfall On PC
Similarly to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the PC port of Redfall does not seem to have been adequately tested. The engine is partially to blame, with Unreal Engine 4 starting to become yesterday’s news, and there is a lot of shader building and caching going on before things come to life.
Before diving into the world of Redfall alone or with friends, try these specs on for size until a patch is released by the development team:
- Resolution: 1920×1080
- Graphics Preset: Custom
- Texture Quality: Medium
- Effects Quality: Medium
- Foliage Quality: Low
- Shading Quality: Low
- Shadow Quality: Medium
- View Distance Quality: Medium
- Upscaling Option: DLSS/FSR
- Mode – Performance

While you may still experience performance jitters and stutters, these are at least the baseline specs that you can use to run Redfall. As long as you meet the Recommended Specs, you should be able to enjoy Redfall. To see if Shadow Quality and View Distance Quality settings help performance, you could always turn them down.
