Good news for those who wish to play Final Fantasy 14, but dislike playing with others: you can now play the entire game alone.
In the Shadowbringers expansion, the Duty Support System was introduced as a way to play without the company of other players. It was a good way to get through the main story without having to wait for other players, or if you’re just too socially anxious. With the latest patch, patch 6.5, it’s now possible to play the whole base game and every expansion’s main story quests by yourself. Well, technically.
You will be paired up with relevant NPCs, so you don’t feel totally alone, but it feels more like you’re playing a Final Fantasy game that isn’t online. As well as the new dungeon Lunar Subterrane, the Stormblood dungeons The Drowned City of Skalla, The Burn, and The Ghimlyt Dark are now available with the duty support system.
