It was announced in August that Night Dive Studios would be remastering one of the most beloved Star Wars games of all time: Star Wars: Dark Forces.
As part of its mission to revive classic games, Night Dive, which launched its remake of System Shock in May, is bringing the 1995 Star Wars title to life with a 4K resolution and 120 frame per second enhancement (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC). In addition to enhanced textures and lighting, controls have been updated to support today’s gamepads, including gyro/motion controls, rumble, and a new weapon wheel. Additionally, Dark Forces Remaster has achievements and trophies.
As a mercenary who defected from the Galactic Empire and joined the Rebel Alliance, Kyle Katarn is the star of Dark Forces. In the Dark Trooper Project, he is tasked with infiltrating the Empire and foiling its plans to create powerful stormtroopers and battle droids. As one of the most Doom-inspired games of its time, it was the first Star Wars FPS.
