Retro Gaming | While the anticipated release date of the Analogue Pocket Dock+DAC support has come and gone, developer RndMnkIII fills the void with an unofficial digital to analog converter (DAC) that does not even require the Dock. The Analogizer-FPGA plugs into the Analogue Pocket’s Gameboy cartridge slot, extracts the digital signal, and outputs 18bit analog RGB or YPbPr to an external display via a VGA connector. Furthermore, composite and S-Video output will soon be possible with Mike Simone’s external Y/C Encoder Project, AND VGA Scan Doubled 31KHz output. It also has an input for some original controllers via SNAC (Serial Native Accessory Converter), the same zero lag native adapters used for the MiSTer FPGA. The adapter is only compatible with Analogizer-specific cores, which so far consists of the NES, SNES, Neo Geo, PC Engine, and Alpha Mission for the arcade.
