In Elden Ring weapons can have Status Effects. These effects will buff (i.e., boost) that weapon’s abilities. For example, the weapon may cause the enemy to Bleed or go to Sleep. There are six Status Effects that can be applied to or are enabled by default when you aquire the weapon.
Elden Ring Status Effects
- Bleed: When used against fleshy enemies, they can trigger the status effect of blood loss.
- Frost: When the status effect is active, it reduces the afflicted unit’s HP and defense by a percentage of their max HP.
- Scarlet Rot: An affliction can quickly deplete a unit’s HP.
- Sleep: Puts enemies to sleep, making them vulnerable to critical strikes.
- Poison: slowly depletes the unit’s HP when afflicted.
- Madness: Inflicts the blood loss status ailment on enemies, which reduces their FP and HP.
