With the Ghost Perk of the COD DMZ, it seemed like the 3-Plate Stealth Vest would be the best option for a plate carrier. However, many players began prioritizing the 3-Plate Comms Vest.
This vest doesn’t seem very useful based on its name and it’s hard to figure out why so many players want one. I know it’s the first plate carrier that I work toward when I have no gear, and I would recommend each squad has at least one, which I’ll explain in detail so you don’t pick the wrong vest.
COD DMZ – What Does the Comms Vest Do?
These two items alone are some of the best items to have on Ashika Island or Al Mazrah, but the 3-Plate Comms Vest makes them even better. The UAVs and Radar Towers will all act as Advanced UAVs instead. Squads will also be able to control towers more effectively with a longer duration and larger radius on the map.
The Comms Vest not only enhances your radar on standard UAVs, but also keeps you aware of enemy squads all the time. As long as your vest is equipped and no UAV is required, you will receive an audible notification when an enemy operator gets within 100 meters of you in COD DMZ.

What makes the 3-Plate Comms Vest better than the 3-Plate Stealth Vest is the fact that all UAVs used with the plate carrier on are turned into Advanced UAVs. Because the Stealth Vest can’t block the Advanced version, it makes the equipment almost entirely pointless. For that reason, you should go for a Comms Vest at any chance you have in the DMZ.
