It is an exciting time for Madden NFL players, as Madden NFL 24 will be released in August, just ahead of the season’s beginning. For years, there has been talk about Madden going cross-play, possibly since the advent of online play.
It was never a reality, but now it is. For this reason alone, Madden fans are more eager to play the next game than they were for previous ones. Here are some of the things we know so far about Madden NFL 24 cross-play from EA, including the rules of engagement, who will have access, and how it will work.
The cross-play feature is the feature that allows players from different platforms to play one another. In case you don’t know what cross-play is, here it is: Cross-play allows players from different platforms to play one another. A player with an Xbox Series X/S can, for example, scrimmage against a PlayStation 5.
Is Madden NFL 24 Cross-Play & Available on All Platforms?
Yes, Madden 24 is cross-play and will be available from day one after the official drop. However, the cross-play feature will only be available for certain game modes and on certain platforms. The platforms that are cross-play compatible are as follows:
- PlayStation 5,
- Xbox Series, and
- PC.
Since newer-generation consoles and PCs have upgraded technology and provide players with a number of advantages, this is understandable. This method has also been employed by the developers with FIFA 23’s cross-play features, so it should be expected. There is no indication from EA whether cross-play will be allowed between older generation consoles or if the older generation consoles will be compatible.
